Armenia Package
Day 2: Yerevan City tour. Yerevan sightseeing includes City center, Republic square, State University, City panorama, Cascade, Parliament, President's Palace, Opera, Matenadaran (depository for ancient manuscripts); Sports & Concert Complex, visit to the Genocide Memorial, dedicated to the Victims of 1915 and the Genocide Museum. Day 3: Etchmiadzin - Zvartnots - Garni - Geghard-Yerevan. Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Etchmiadzin. The city used to be the ancient capital of Armenia. Since 4th century, it is the largest religious center, the residency of Catholicos of All Armenians. Visit to Zvartnots, a temple of Vigil Forces, built in 641-661 A.D. which is considered one of the architectural wonders. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List (2000). Drive to the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia- Garni which is built in 77 AD by King Trdat (Arshakid Dynasty). The temple is Greco-Roman style with characteristic pillars. It stands proudly on a rocky ridge with a deep canyon presenting a beautiful view. The temple was a summer residence for Arshakid dynasty. Visit to the ruins of Royal Palace and Royal bath-house nearby. ). Drive to the unique caved temple St. Geghard (12th -13th cc.) which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list (2000). Drive back to Yerevan. Day 4: Ararat valley - Noravank - Selim pass - Lake Sevan - Yerevan Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the Ararat valley, one of the largest of the Armenian Plateau that stretches west of the Sevan basin, at the foothills of the Geghama mountains. In the north the plain borders on Mount Aragats, and in the south, on Mount Ararat. Stop near Khor-Virap Monastery. Its placement in the dungeon makes it unique among all the spiritual monuments in Armenia. Here you'll be able to go down into the dark pit yourself. The location enables you to see gorgeous biblical mountain shining with its two white peaks. Visit to Noravank. Near Noravank Monastery complex (XIII- XIV cc.) you can't help getting admired with incredibly beautiful scenery along the road to Noravank and enjoy the unique bizarre-shaped precipitous red cliffs. Drive to Sevan, one of the greatest high mountainous freshwater lakes of Eurasia. Return to Yerevan. The program includes farewell dinner in Yerevan. Day 5: Transfer to the airport Check out from the hotel-transfer to the airport.
